I hate the new blogger interface with an unholy passion.

I hate it with the burning intensity of a thousand desert suns.

I hate it so much I am thinking of transferring my blog over to Wordpress just out of spite.

That is all.

  1. Come to WP!
I had a Blogger-blog too, once a long time ago...
found it annoying as heck. And everytime I want to comment on all those Blogger-blogs in the PBP, it is difficult in the least, if not Name/URL is allowed.

    1. I actually really like the old Blogger interface. And the way you can design and re-arrange the blog is easy and clever. The themes are better too. I have a wordpress blog for other purposes and I swear it took me like a month to work out how to do anything :P It's fun to use, but it still took me a while. It was confusing.

I just hate the new interface. There's this spreading ugliness that I think is inspired by facebook or something. Everything's in big white squares. It happened with fitocracy, it's happening here... it's awkward and honestly a bit condescending. Everything is BIG. Don't like it, nope nope.

I'll see what happens. There's still the option to switch back momentarily so I went with that, and left some "omg what were you thinking" feedback. ;D

  2. They updated Google+ the other day, and I hated it, and I don't even use that all that much. I can't imagine if they did something similar to something that I used all the time. Thankfully I've so far managed to avoid "timeline" on FB, not entirely sure how, since I thought it was supposed to be mandatory now, but I am so ever thankful for each day that I don't have to deal with it.

I've never figured out why companies have to mess with things that aren't broken. It's like fine if things need to be tweaked, but don't massively change stuff without at least checking with your community first to see if they are ok with it.

  3. I've tried to give the new interface a fair shake and cannot stand it either. It is about as aesthetically pleasing as a parking lot and does not flow well at all. I found WP even less user-friendly, though.

  4. I like your blog, so I hope you continue despite the crappy new interface.

I don't like it either, but after fiddling around with WP, I like that interface even less.

I wish companies would stop "improving" their sites. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

    1. *fistbump*

My ire dipped considerably once I realised I could temporarily switch back. It's my hope that they'll leave it as an option forever. I realise it would take up a lot of space or whatever but damnit I'm finicky.

But don't worry. Even if I end up on another blog hosting site (unlikely at this point; I just like the themes here too damn much) I can just import all the posts.
